Have a birthday or special event coming up? Want to do something different and fun? Marlborough Arts Center is pleased to be able to offer a wide selection of topics for Children's Parties. Paint Your Own Pottery (fired glaze or non-fired acrylic paint)
Choose a wonderful little box or other item to paint with our glazes. We provide all brushes and glazes. Pieces will then be fired in our kilns and returned to the birthday parent within two weeks.
Watercolor or Pencil Drawing
Watercolor Magic
Using the primary colors you will add water and watch the magic happen on your watercolor paper. Then you will crop, matte and magnetize. Your artwork will be ready to hang on the refrigerator for all to see.
Dream Catcher
We will use a grapevine circle and various materials, including artificial sinew, feathers and beads to make a Native American dream catcher to hang in your room.
Seashore Sun Catchers
Have you always wanted a cool and unique mobile sun catcher? We will use a myriad of beach glass, shells, etc. to construct one to hang in a special spot on your porch or room.
Decoupage on a Binder Cover
Bored with your school binder? Come and use decoupage techniques to “Jazz” it up with your artwork. You will be the envy of your classmates!
Multi Media Artwork
Let your creative juices flow as you use various arts materials to design a piece of art to be hung or displayed.
Origami Boxes and Stars
Using ancient origami folding techniques, we will make little boxes to hold a treasure or trinket and a decorative star to be hung in your window.
Flower Fairies
Using silk flower petals and leaves, we will create lovely Flower Fairies for decoration or play. We will also share Fairy books and lore.
Oobleck “Goop”
Like to get messy?! We will be messy only briefly as we mix up our Goop. Then you can explore its unique properties and try to blow bubbles with it. We will also share the Dr Seuss story of Oobleck.
Finger Crochet
Learn to crochet on your fingers to make a fuzzy scarf or belt, or use your crocheted strand to coil into a small rug. From now on , you will need only your hands and a skein of yarn to create your own fun.
Polymer Clay
Learn techniques of working with versatile polymer clay to make beads, barrettes, or other jewelry components. We can also do three dimensional clay creations or creatures. (specific items to be determined by the teacher).
Yarn Wrap Figures
Using pipe cleaners and colorful yarn, create a unique, pose-able boy or girl figure with wonderful hair for decoration or play.
     
Minimum One Month advance notice is required
From $180.00 for a two hour party, including a one hour art lesson with an experienced artist-teacher.
